We are having far fewer earthquakes but have been deluged with snow and now, rain! A rather miserable late winter but spring is very close, thank goodness!
Our Aspiehelp meetings continue to be most successful and enjoyable, with our first non-diagnosed family members accompanying their own Aspie person. More NT's (neurotypicals) are asking to come in the future, we feel this is a good sign for future developments. The meeting which should have been held tonight is postponed until next week (the 24th August) because of the snow and icy conditions on the roads.
We are very pleased to announce that we now have another staff member, Annie Tanner, who will be available as a consultant for the pre-school sector. She has many years' experience as a Kindy teacher and principal and will work with families and their pre-school facility to ensure a good early start for Aspie children and transition into school for them. This will make a huge difference to getting Aspie children off on the right foot at the beginning of the school experience. Annie has lived experience as an Aspie and her particular forte is children's play as an enriching part of their lives and a pathway into invention, creation and learning.
Aspiehelp will not be able to work from the Cashmere Church until remediation is finished, hopefully by Christmas, but we are continuing, like many other agencies, from our own homes in the meantime.
