It has been quite a busy year for Aspiehelp, We have met many new people and bonded together as a group. Jan and I have learned a great deal in our efforts to supply the best possible care and information to our clients.
Aspiehelp now also boasts a a Clnical Herbalist practitioner, Katrin Gillanders. Katrin is an Aspie, as our policy states, to guide and help from "the inside out".
Today Leith, Annie and Jan spent a day attending a seminar given by Rudy Simone, Aspergirl extraordinaire, visiting from California. It was a terrfic day, with Rudy "on" for the best part of 5 hours. The audience was disappointingly small, but I guess this reflects that Aspies are still to really make their mark in New Zealand. The audience in Auckland was even smaller, apparently.
The Aspie communityin NZ really needs to start working together as a solid group to strive against the projected welfare "reforms" which had disastrous results in the UK but seem to be on track here because NZ welfare ideas always follow theirs even though the consequences can already be seen. It is very worrying. The main NZ Aspie community can be found on Facebook on the Asperger Syndrome NZ page. Do join in!
