We love coffee, but is there no way to make it without enormous amounts of noise? I predict that many baristas will find they have hearing problems in their older age from all the incessant, close-up thumps, bangs, hisses and the noise of china hitting china as they rush to fill orders. What a terribly long process it is too.
Carrying your coffee about seems to have almost supplanted the water bottle, which, although irritating and reminiscent of toddler-hood, was at least quiet. Going to a cafe for a pleasant nosh or conversation is pretty well impossible with all the noise generated by coffee machines, yet customers seem to take it for granted and are able to ignore it. No wonder sitting outside the cafe has become so popular, as people seek to escape the horror inside!
I would love to see a fully automated, see-through machine where the cup and coffee go in at one end and proceed on a conveyor belt or snall carriage on wheels through all the stages of coffee making (noise proofed) and pop out the other end all ready to go! Might an Aspie design one?
